Upon arrival to Arequipa, reception and transfer to your hotel.
You have some free time in your hotel before we collect you at 2pm for your Private City Tour. Arequipa, known as the “white city” is called so because the buildings in the city are made from the white-colored volcanic stone Sillar. We will visit the Main Square and the Convent of Santa Catalina, established in 1580, which is among Peru’s most beautiful convents. It is dubbed “a city within a city”, complete with stone streets and plaza. It is truly an artistic wonder, showcasing Spanish American art. The place became a monastery after it played the role of providing sanctuary to upper class women in the colonial age. These women directed the place towards a holy purpose.
The tour then takes you to see the church of the Society of Jesus. You can view some amazing paintings in this local baroque art masterpiece and the experience of walk the halls outlined by beautiful fresco is something you should not miss. Lastly, your visit to Yanahuara and Carmen Alto’s housing districts will have you witnessing the breathtaking beauty of the Arequipeños terraces, the Misti Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes and city center. After this we will transport you back to your hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Arequipa.

At 7am we collect you from your hotel and make our way to the town of Chivay in the Colca Canyon. Early into the tour you will have magnificent views of the volcanoes Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu as you draw near National Reserve of “Pampa Cañahuas”. Upon reaching the reserve you can witness the wild Vicuñas in its natural habitat. From there we move on to Pata wasi (3800masl) where you will view natural rock formations with the Misti and Chachani volcanoes in the distance. From this point we ascend to 4,500masl passing “Tocra” on the way. You can take in the beauty of beautiful lakes in the area, and take pictures of “Altiplano”, which is the world’s largest high plateau area, behind Tibetan plateau. The “highlight” of the tour will be “Pata Pampa” where you will stand at 4,820masl. Approaching the town of Chivay (3,651masl), you will be amazed at Colca valley’s multicolored terraces. We take lunch first in a touristic restaurant before taking you to your hotel.
Later in the afternoon, we recommend that you visit the hot thermal springs of Calera where you can soak in the medical waters. The journey there is by taxi and cost of transport and entrance is additional. Overnight at Hotel in Colca Valley.
[title size=”3″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single” sep_color=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” class=”” id=””]DAY 3 : Chivay – Colca Canyon “Cruz del Condor” – Arequipa
We start out early this morning driving to the Cross of the Condor where you can see the majestic Andean Condor in flight. This is the second deepest canyon on earth (4km at deepest point). We sit and enjoy these majestic birds for an hour or so before we start making our journey back to Chivay. Enroute we will stop at the town of Pinchollo as well as the “Antahuilque viewpoint” to view the marvelous terraces built 1500 years ago by the Collaguas civilization. Another stop over will be at viewpoints “Choquetico” and “Tumbas colgantes” which means ‘hanging tombs’. Here you can see the litomaqueta which is a rock-carving model of the canyon terraces.
We continue onwards to the village of Maca and Yanque where you can visit the beautiful churches. After arriving in Chivay again you have lunch before we continue back to Arequipa. You will arrive around 5pm and we drop you off at your hotel .Overnight at Hotel in Arequipa.
OPTIONAL: If you want to go to Puno (Lake Titicaca) then we recommend you leave from here with our small transportation service. Please enquire for information.

After breakfast at your hotel, our representative will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport for your journey home or on to your next destination.
