Tour Itinerary

South America´s largest and the worlds highest navigable lake, exciting 10 day tour that includes: Lima, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, The Sacred Valley and an overnight stay in Machu Picchu.

DAY 1

Arrival in Lima

Arrival in Lima and transfer to either the Ramada Airport Hotel or other nearby hotel. We recommend spending the first night at the airport hotel or closeby since most flights from the US arrive late in the evening and your flight to Cusco will leave early the next morning

DAY 2

Lima – Cusco

We transfer you to the airport for your early morning flight to Cusco. On arrival our Team will meet you and transfer you by private car to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. This helps you with better acclimatisation. We stop enroute at the cultural village of Awanacancha where you can see a variety of camelids (llamas, alpacas, vicuñas) and see ladies making traditional weavings. We continue on to the main town in the Valley called Urubamba where your hotel is located. Rest of day at leisure to enjoy the beauty of the Valley!

DAY 3

Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

We start out early today with our first stop at the well known market of Pisac where you can sample delicious fresh bread that this area is known for. The market has a wide variety of handicrafts to choose from and a nice chance to purchase some gifts here. From the market we return to our private car and drive up the Pisac Ruins where we will learn all about the different cultures that lived in this area. You will walk for around 2 hours up here. Time for lunch and we head back to Urubamba where we stop for lunch at Los Tres Keros Restaurant – here you will sample delicious Peruvian food!

We now make our way to the pretty Andean town of Ollantaytambo where we will board our afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. Your Guide will travel with you and check you into your hotel in the town. You will overnight here – tomorrow is an early start!

DAY 4

Machu Picchu

This morning we rise early to catch the first bus up to Machu Picchu! We will enjoy a 2 hour sunrise tour of “the Lost City of the Incas” which was discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911 and now proudly a New World Wonder!

We will enjoy lunch in the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge Restaurant and when you are ready you return by bus back to the town. You have free time in the afternoon to enjoy the hot springs if you wish or explore the local market.

DAY 5

Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

Today we have breakfast and then catch the early train back to Ollantaytambo where our Driver will wait for us.

We will visit the Fortress of Ollantaytambo and learn about its interesting Inca history. We also have time to explore the little cobbled streets before we start making our way back to Cusco.

Enroute today we will stop at the “Inca Greenhouse” of Maras where it is believed the Incas experimented with growing crops at different altitudes. We will also visit the ancient Inca Saltworks of Salineras which are still being farmed today in the same way as in Inca-times!

Our final stop is the market town of Chincheros where we stop to visit the quaint colonial church and its impressive

DAY 6

Cusco

Free Morning to explore the sights and sounds of Cusco! Afternoon City Tour of the most important sites around Cusco.

DAY 7

Cusco – Puno

This morning we take the First Class Touristic bus down to Lake Titicaca (Puno). Enroute we will stop at various archaeological sites – Raqchi, Andahuayllilas, Pukara. We stop for lunch in the town of Sicuani. You will arrive in Puno late afternoon and be met by our Representative. Transfer to hotel.

DAY 8

Lake Titicaca

Today we take a boat out to the Floating Islands of Uros. From here we continue onwards to the Isle of Amantani where we will overnight with a local family and enjoy a fiesta!

DAY 9

Lake Titicaca

Enjoy breakfast with your family before continuing onward to the Isle of Taquile. Here we find beautiful local costumes and hand woven products. In the late afternoon we return to the Port of Puno and transfer back to your hotel.

DAY 10

Puno (Juliaca Airport) – Lima

Today we transfer you to the airport at Juliaca which is a 45 minutes drive away from Puno. You will take the early flight to Lima and be met by our Representative on arrival. We take you on a Lima City Tour and afterwards you can enjoy the suburb of Miraflores and our Representative will collect you at an appropriate time to transfer you back to the airport for your late flight home.

The Permit Reservation System for 2016 is currently closed. It will open during January 2016 for bookings from the 1st March. This will be frantic as all operators scramble to submit their reservations. The month of May and June are the first to sell out, either on the opening day or shortly thereafter.
