Tour Itinerary

This program encompasses the beautiful countries of Peru and Chile with a side trip to Easter Island!

Day 1: Arrive Lima, Peru
Welcome to Peru!
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the vibrant suburb of Miraflores. Overnight.

Day 2: Lima
Morning free.

Pick Up Time: 2pm
Today you have a Private City tour of Lima starting from your hotel. You will have the opportunity to visit one of the most important architectural constructions of the 17th century, Convent of Saint Francis. This complex has a small square, the convent and church. Its cloisters have beautiful tiles and one can visit the catacombs which are more than 300 years old. We then visit the three most important sites from colonial times: Plaza Mayor, plaza San Martin, Palacio de Gobierno (known as the house of Pizarro), and the Municipality, preserving their original architecture.

This 3-hour sightseeing tour offers the best of colonial and modern Lima. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores.

Day 3: Lima-Cusco

Please make your way to the check in desk 1hr30mins prior to departure time for your flight to Cusco. On arrival you will be met by our Team and transferred to your hotel.

Pick Up Time: 1.30pm
This afternoon we collect you from your hotel and taken on a Private City Tour of Cusco. You will visit the most important sites: The Cathedral, Koricancha “Temple of the Sun”, Tambomachay “Temple of the Water”, Qenqo and Sacsayhuaman. The tour lasts around 4 hours and ends in the Plaza de Armas.

Day 4: Cusco-Sacred Valley-Aguas Calientes
Pick Up Time from your Hotel: 8.30am
We will collect you from your hotel and take you on the Private Tour of the Sacred Valley. We will visit Awanacancha Cultural Village, where you can see and interact with many species of camelids (alpacas, llamas, vicuñas). Here you will also see ladies making fine alpaca weavings. From here we travel to the town of Pisac where we visit the market for a little while and then travel by car up to the ruins above the town. We will walk in the area of the ruins for around 1 hour. From here we make our way back to Urubamba where we take lunch in a touristic restaurant (not included in the cost). Our final place to visit is the pretty Andean town of Ollantaytambo. We will hear all about the amazing history of this village and explore some of its pretty lanes.

We end the tour in Ollantaytambo and take the train to Aguas Calientes.

On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel which is a short walk away.
7pm: Your guide will come over and brief you on the program for tomorrow.

Day 5: Machupicchu
This morning you rise early to take the bus together with your guide up to the ruins of this beautiful New World Wonder, Machupicchu!! You will walk with your guide around the citadel exploring the most important sites and temples learning about the civilisation that once inhabited this mountain top citadel. The tour lasts around 2 hours and afterwards you have free time to explore on your own.

When you are ready you make your way back to the town for lunch (not included in the price). You can explore the town a little, maybe get some souvenirs in the market, and then we take the train back to Ollantaytambo where you will overnight.

Day 6: Sacred Valley-Cusco
Pick Up Time: 9am
Your guide will meet you at the hotel this morning and we continue further exploring the Sacred Valley. We start making our way back to Cusco and will stop enroute at the little town of Maras which is the gateway to the Inca circular terraces of Moray commonly referred to as the “Inca Greenhouse” due to the fact that it is believed these terraces were used to experiment with growing crops at various levels of altitude. From here we visit the ancient saltworks of Salineras where salt is still being farmed using the age-old techniques. From here we make our way to the market town of Chincheros where we will visit the market and the pretty colonnial church in this town. We then continue back to Cusco and leave you in your hotel in the early afternoon.

Day 7: Cusco
Free day to explore wonderful Cusco! Perhaps take a walk to the well-known San Pedro food market and try one of the local smoothies or go to the Inca Museum or explore the old area of San Blas (the artistic area).

Day 8: Cusco-Santiago, Chile

Day 9: Santiago-Atacama

Day 10: Atacama
The journey starts with a visit to the Toconao village. This place stands out for its patrimonial architecture, for the San Lucas church and its bell tower. The main source of employment in this village is agriculture and craftwork. We will continue our journey to Chaxa Lagoon, a landscape of spectacular beauty, divided in several water mirrors, where many flamencos and other birds like Paringas live. Later, we will continue to the High Plateau in order to go over the lagoons Miscanti and Miñiques, located more than 4200 mts. above sea level. This place is a surprising destination, habitat of a wide variety of birds and surrounded by impressive volcanoes. Finally, we will visit the Jere valley.

Day 11: Atacama
This tour stars very early in the morning in order to observe the sunrise in one of the most important geothermic fields in the world: the Tatio Geysers. There are over 70 geysers with pools of boiling water spurting vapor. We will then enjoy a deserved breakfast in this amazing setting, in the shadows of the Andes. On our way back to San Pedro de Atacama, We will visit the village of Machuca, a truly atacameño village of just 20 houses. The inhabitants of Machuca will offer you hand crafted Andean souvenirs, as well as typical food from the region such as llama meat, sopaipillas and empanadas. In the afternoon we will visit the Moon Valley. In our journey we will be able to enjoy the beauty delivered by extravagant forms that the cordillera mountain range gives us encouraging to imagination and reflection for your peace of mind. we will enjoy one of the best views of the Andes and its volcanoes. Finally we will watch the sunset that through its colorful gives us a wonderful end to our tour.

Day 12: Atacama-Santiago

Day 13: Santiago-Easter Island

Transfer to the airport in order to take your flight to Easter Island. Upon arrival a short transfer will take you to your hotel. Free day. Overnight in Hanga Roa.

Day 14: Easter Island
Today we will drive to the southcoast and visit representative examples of not restored platforms, Ahus Vaihu in the bay of Hanga Te’e, and Akahanga, where supposedly the famous king Hotu Matua was buried. Proceed to Rano Raraku, quarry of almost 900 stone statues, 397 of them still lying or standing at the slopes of the extinct volcano with crater lake. Then visit Ahu Tongariki (restored with 15 Moais), most recent and biggest restauration on the island. Drive to the eastcoast and visit Ahu Te Pito Kura and the “Navel of the World”. Last but not least visit the beach of Anakena with its restored Ahus Nau Nau and Ature Huke. There you will have the opportunity to enjoy the warm Pacific Ocean. Back to hotel.

Day 15: Easter Island
We will drive up the extinct volcano Rano Kau, appreciate on the way a view over the whole island and see its distinct geological features, proceed to an outlook at the crater lake. Afterwards drive to the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the birdman competition took place and you can see the spectacular petroglyphs related to this culture, enjoy the breathtaking view towards the 3 islets Motu Nui, Motu Iti and Motu Kao Kao opposite the coast. Drive down again to Ahu Vinapu (not restored) and for some still proof of the influence of pre-inca arquitects in Easter Island culture. Last stop is Ana Kai Tangata cave with paintings. Back to the hotel. The second tour is to restored Ahu Akivi with 7 Moais, built in the middle of the island. The legend tells us that these statues are representing the 7 explorers who were sent to Rapa Nui by the king Hotu Matua. Proceed to the unrestored Ahu Hanga Poukura. Then visit the topknot-quarry Puna Pau with its red scoria stone, where all the Pukaos were made. We will also visit the ceremonial site of Tahai with 3 Ahus and restored statues, remains of boathouses, a boatramp and other features. Here we see the only statue with eyes.

Day 16: Easter Island-Santiago

Day 17: Santiago-Puerto Natales

Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the bus station in order to take a bus to Puerto Natales. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 18: Puerto Natales
Today, we will depart from the hotel very early to start the full day excursion that will take us to the Milodon cave where a giant sloth lived about 12.000 years ago and then to Torres del Paine National Park where we will see the beautiful Torres del Paine range and lakes like Sarmiento, Nordenskjold and Pehoe. A short trek will take us to Salto Grande, a very beautiful waterfall, part of the hydrographic net of the park. Then, returning to the main road we will continue towards Grey lake; you will be able to observe this from the beach. Return to Puerto Natales.

Day 19: Puerto Natales
Today we will departure from the hotel to the pier in order to start the navigation to the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. After 4 hours of navigation we will arrive to Bernardo O´ Higgins National Park, where these two glaciers are. During this journey we will see Sea Lion colonies, cormorants, waterfalls and native forest. Condors will be seen from the boat. Once we get to the park we will see from the boat Balmaceda glacier. Afterwards we will dock at Puerto Toro, from where we will start a short trek towards the Serrano glacier. Return to Puerto Natales.
