Tour Itinerary
DAY 1
Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes
This morning you will be met by your Private Guide and Driver who will take you out to the Sacred Valley. Enroute we will stop at the cultural village of Awanacancha where you can see a variety of camelids (llamas, alpacas, vicunas) that you can feed and interact with. Also onsite are ladies making fine alpaca weavings. This is a great information centre about Andean life! From here we travel to Pisac Market where we wander around the various stalls and if you get a chance, sample an Empanada! They are delicious! We now travel up the ruins above the town. On a good day you have beautiful views over the valley. We will walk in the area of the ruins for around 1 hour and your Guide will tell you all about the various civilisations that inhabited this area over many years. From here we make our way to Urubamba, the main town in the valley, where we take lunch in a touristic restaurant.
Onwards we travel towards the pretty Andean village of Ollantaytambo where we visit its spectacular ruins perched on the hillside. After the tour we make our way to the train station where you take the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes. On arrival its a short walk to your hotel where you rest up for the evening. Perhaps take a dip in the hot springs tonight!
