At Pachamama we are hopeful that when the Tourism sector fully reopens we will be able to ensure that our travelers and staff alike have the safest and most enjoyable experience possible while traveling with us.
COVID-19 has changed everything in the present and also represents changes in the future. It is clear it seems that there is likely to be a long period of time in which we will be forced to keep our distance from each other, wear masks and adhere to safety precautions throughout our daily lives wherever in the World we find ourselves.
It is in everybody's interest to follow strict protocols and guidelines, not only from ourselves but also those of third parties, ie hotels, museums, archeological sites, etc. to keep ourselves safe and healthy and Covid-FREE!
We would like to share with you our general notes on the "new-new" and protocols that are in place for the safe return of tourism.
Hotels
Hotels and other suppliers must adhere to the official government guidelines and protocols.
Some of the most noticeable changes will be during check-in/out and during breakfast. Check-in and check-out will be entirely contactless, as will payment for any services. Breakfast will be table service rather than buffet-style or could be provided in rooms depending on the hotel facilities.
Training of employees in hygiene and safety measures is paramount with the provision of mandatory protective masks and gloves for employees being supplied.
Cleaning of rooms has specific protocols that need to be adhered to and certified by the health authorities, as well as the sterilization of frequently used items.
Installation of doormats with water and bleach solution at hotel entrances and elevators.
Carrying out temperature controls on all persons accessing hotels.
Conditioning of the reception area of each hotel with methacrylate partitions and safety distance marks on the floor.
Installation of disinfectant gel for hands, wipes and specific posters to remember the measures of social distancing.
Transportation
On any program you will no doubt be traveling with our Drivers who are dedicated in getting you from A to B safely and securely.
During this time, safety and hygiene is more important than ever.
Our Drivers will follow clear guidelines to diminish any possible health risks.
Keeping social distance is imperative within the vehicles, so we operate at 50% capacity. You get more space!
Whilst drivers are friendly, they will keep their distance, greeting travelers with a nod or a wave rather than a handshake.
Guides
Our guides are what make your time with us memorable! They are passionate about sharing their culture with you and whilst they usually form close bonds with their travelers, sharing a hug perhaps, this is now no longer possible, so instead they have to keep their social distance and greet you with a wave or elbow greeting rather than a handshake. This will not detract from their usual friendliness and humor we are sure!
Guides are also well-versed in first aid and will be able to help in any situation that may arise.
The future is uncertain, however, we do know that we all need to adapt to the "new-new" way of life that is upon us.
We still firmly believe that we are able to offer our travelers a beautiful, once in a lifetime vacation, so we are waiting with anticipation to welcome you as our new-generation-travelers!!
