The Colca Canyon is one of the deepest canyons in the World and where you can see the largest bird in the World, the Andean Condor! On our journey from Arequipa you will enjoy breathtaking natural landscapes as we leave the city behind us. We pass through the National Reserve where we can see wild vicuñas and you may even see flamingos.
This tour has the flexibility to be extended to Lake Titicaca (Puno) if you wish or you can return to Arequipa.

Day 1
Pick Up Time: 7.30am
We begin our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world! Taking the highway from Yura, bordering the snow-covered Chachani Mountain onwards to Cañahuas Pampas (natural reserve of vicuñas), where we will see these graceful camelids going through high Andean lands. We are also able to see a huge variety of migratory birds enroute including Flamingos. We will pass through the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura). We stop to admire of the beauty of the area, which is also the highest point on our trip (4,800 m.a.s.l). We arrive into Chivay at approximately 13h30 where we stop at a restaurant for lunch.We continue our trip in the afternoon around 15h00 when we drive up to the colourful village of Coporaque, from where we will start an approximated long walk of 2 hours to be able to enjoy the surrounding nature and beautiful landscapes of this valley, as well as of a pre-Inca cemetery. After this we return to our hotel. Later we can go to the hot springs at Calera where you can enjoy the medical waters (Entrance: S/.10 per person).
Day 2
We have an early departure at 06h00 to the viewpoint of Condor Cross (Cruz del Condor) where we can observe the majestic condor in flight. On our return we stop in the towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque that have beautiful colonial churches. We also stop enroute for lunch in Chivay and afterwards connect with our group transportation to Arequipa. We transfer you to your hotel.
OPTION : EXTENSION TO LAKE TITICACA (PUNO)
Instead of returning to Arequipa we can transfer you to Puno in either private transportation or a regular comfortable small vehicle transfer service. The journey from Chivay to Puno takes around 5 hours and you will be dropped off at your hotel. We can organise your tours in Puno and Lake Titicaca.
